The trick is, is to never press snooze

How Early Morning Exercise Boosts Wellness

In a world where our days are often filled with countless commitments and responsibilities, finding time for self-care can feel like a luxury. Yet, carving out just a small window in the early morning hours for exercise can have a profound impact on our overall wellness. From physical health to mental clarity, here's why incorporating morning exercise into your routine can set the tone for a day filled with vitality and balance.

1. Kickstarting the Metabolism:

Waking up the body with a morning workout jumpstarts metabolism, helping to rev up calorie burn throughout the day. Whether it's a brisk walk, a yoga session, or a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, getting the blood pumping early on can enhance energy levels and set a positive tone for the day ahead. People on The Rodina Reset have all said their day is better for moving their bodies first thing.

2. Enhancing Mental Clarity and Focus:

Exercise has been shown to boost cognitive function and improve mental clarity. Engaging in physical activity early in the morning can sharpen focus and concentration, setting the stage for productivity and success in whatever tasks lie ahead. Plus, the rush of endorphins can elevate mood and reduce stress, promoting a sense of well-being from the get-go. Especially at this time of year when our mood needs a boost with the absence of sunshine and longer days.

3. Establishing Consistency and Discipline:

Committing to a morning exercise routine instills discipline and establishes a positive habit that can carry over into other areas of life. By prioritising self-care first thing in the morning, you're setting yourself up for success and reinforcing the importance of your well-being. It is all about starting how you mean to go on.

4. Maximising Time Efficiency:

Mornings are often one of the quietest and least interrupted times of the day. By exercising early, you're making the most of this precious time and freeing up the rest of your day for other commitments. Plus, getting your workout done early eliminates the risk of it getting sidelined by unexpected events or last-minute obligations later in the day. In my experience there will always be something more important to do than effort! and catching yourself out early gives you less time to think about it.

5. Promoting Better Sleep:

Regular exercise has been linked to improved sleep quality and duration. By exposing yourself to natural light and physical activity early in the day, you're helping to regulate your body's internal clock and promote better sleep-wake cycles. (Google circadian rhythm) This, in turn, can lead to more restful and rejuvenating sleep at night, completing the cycle of wellness.  Invariably you'll find you will go to bed earlier and have a smarter bedtime routine.

Find something that works for you.
